Discounts on Restaurant Gift Cards

Several local restaurants are offering their traditional holiday gift card discounts.

Jesse's and Molly's are offering an extra $5 card for each $25 gift card you purchase. The $5 cards are good until March 31st and cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount. If you buy $100 in gift cards you'll get a coupon book valued at $200 with a coupon for each month.

Lui Lui is also offering an extra $5 card for each $25 gift card you purchase.

Because Lui Lui recently spun off from Blue Sky Restaurant Group, the gift cards you buy from Jesse's, Molly's and Lui Lui are redeemable at any of the three restaurants, but the bonus cards and coupons are only good where you purchased them (Jesse's/Molly's or Lui Lui).

Gusanoz is also offering a bonus $5 card for each $25 gift certificate you purchase.

Boloco is offering a free burrito for every $25 you load onto their stored value card.

And Friendly's is offering a bonus $10 for every $25 gift card.

The Cookies of Christmas

Umpleby's Bakery & Cafe in Hanover has been running down a delicious variety of cookies, one per day leading up to Christmas.

So far we've seen:

12. The Chocliate Crinkle
13. The Pecan Thumbprint
14. The Hazelnut Linzer
15. The Pistachi Macaroon

And we still have over a week till Christmas, so many more cookies will be revealed! Gingerbread hasn't been on the list yet and I'd imagine that's a given, but what other cookies do you think Umpleby's will unveil? What are your favorites?

Irene Disaster Relief Benefit Dinner at King Arthur Flour

King Arthur Flour is hosting a special dinner to benefit Irene disaster relief on Sunday September 25th from 6PM to 8PM. The meal features salads, hand-thrown pizza and desserts. The cost is $50 per person and the meal will be held at the King Arthur Flour Baking Education Center.
