I've updated the software to correct a couple of problems. The first problem is with account creation. Users would not be automatically logged in after creating an account. This was the result of a bug which has been fixed. The other problem was that some users would get a message saying "Loading..." when trying to enter a new review of comment.
More...I'm pleased to release the first version of UVFood's support for Apple's iPhone. The iPhone interface is a set of web pages specially tailored to the iPhone, designed to load quickly over the slow data connections you'll get when using Edge. The interface allows you to quickly find lists of restaurants in a given town, or by a given cuisine. You can easily get to the full UVFood listing if you want, or check the location on the map.
More...I've changed the links to towns on the front page so that their search results will show only places in those towns. Before this change they would show listings with the town name anywhere in the listing - so, for instance, if you were looking for restaurants in Plainfield (good luck with that!) you would also find restaurants on Plainfield Road in Lebanon. This change also applies to links from town names in listings. If you type the name of a town in the search box and do a search, you'll still find all matches for it, not just listings that are in that town.
I'm very happy to release the first version of menu support for UVFood. UVFood has provided a link to online menus that a restaurant may offer on its web site, but until now it has been unable to display a restaurant's menus itself. Restaurant listings now have a "Menu" tab which will take you to a page which will show you any menus we may have for the restaurant.
More...With gas and food prices both on the rise, for many people it's harder to make the decision to go out and eat. Some restaurants offer special discounts which may help you have the chance to catch a meal out while keeping the cost down.
More...Back when UVFood started, the sources which we seeded our database from contained many restaurants which had closed already. We knew about some of these and were balancing our time in writing code versus working on updating the database. As a result, some listings for closed restaurants appeared as still open.

We now support more RSS feeds. You can subscribe to feeds for most items under the Explore menu - so if you'd like to get a feed of the newest restaurants in the area, subscribe to Explore / Newest and you'll see whenever we add a newly opened
restaurant.
UVFood now has blogs! Two of them, at least: Upper Valley Food and Site News (which happens to be the blog you're currently reading.
