Account Management Update

I've just done a substantial update to UVFood.

Much of the work is focused on account creation and management. Users will now receive welcome email and a link to click to confirm their email address. They have full use of the system before confirming, but none of their reviews or ratings will be visible to other users until they confirm.

Users who need help logging in now have an improved interface at http://www.uvfood.com/login/help

You can request help changing your password, or you can request an "autologin" link. Both will send you email with a special URL in it. The autologin URL will log you in to UVFood without needing your password (you'll still need to type your email address to confirm that you are who you are and that you didn't just accidentally guess the URL). Both links are good for three days after they're generated.

If you want to change your email address or password, you can now do so on the "Email & Password" tab of your user profile. Click on "Your Account" at the top of the page and that will take you to your UVFood home page, where you'll see the "Email & Password" tab.

I've released the first work on user profiles. Your "home page" now displays your favorites, any recent updates to your favorites and your recent activity on the site. Over the winter I'll be cleaning up the updates to your favorites so that it's more understandable.

Finally, there's a small change to reviews. Reviews now list how many reviews a user has made as well as the average rating they give. This should help you get a feel for whether someone tends to be an overly negative or positive reviewer, and if they just showed up to bash or talk up a particular business.

Over the next week or two I'll also be requiring email confirmation for existing sites. I'll announce it here when it's ready, and all existing users will receive email when it's time.
