Salsa and Hummus with Chef Jeff Jones

Formerly a chef at the Norwich Inn and currently running a kitchen at Dartmouth, Chef Jeff Jones also finds time to prepare and sell a line of salsas and hummus which are currently sold exclusively at farmer's markets in the Upper Valley.

You can find Chef Jones' variations on black bean hummus and salsas of varying spiciness regularly the South Royalton and Chelsea farmer's markets, and occasionally at the Woodstock at Mt. Tom and Hanover farmer's markets.

Chef Jones had this to say about selling at farmer's markets:

"We are only selling at markets right now but hope to expand to local co-op markets over the next year. We have had alot of inquiries about where our product can be found after the market season is over. We are definitely working on that.

"Our experience selling at farmer's markets has been enjoyable. We love the sense of community among the vendors and patrons. Direct feedback from our customers is helpful and farmers markets help us keep that connection to those who enjoy what we do. I have been crafting salsa's and hummus at home for many years. Family and friends have been urging us to start a business and this year the timing seemed right.

"It is nice being able to support local farms as we use locally grown when ever we can. We try to keep most of our ingredients coming from as local as we can or at least from Vermont. This has been a great venture for my family and me."
