Oh Gusanoz, I had such high hopes for you. Since coming to the UV over a decade ago, I've been jonesing for an authentic taqueria in Hanover. When Gusanoz opened this location I was so hopeful. My first visit was a bust. The staff didn't seem to know their menu, the food prep line was organized so poorly that I saw the staff walking back and forth holding the same items over and over. Oh, and it was so incredibly slow, despite the use of a microwave (!!) to heat everything. The food was just OK--reasonably authentic flavors prepared decently, but nothing to write home about. I chalked up that first visit to the fact that they were new, and gave them some time to settle in. Sadly, it didn't seem to help. A subsequent visit showed they were just as inefficient behind the counter, and this time the food we ordered was truly sub-par. If I were in Hanover late at night I am sure I would go there for a change of pace from pizza, and if my office were ordering burritos I might put in for one, but for lunch or dinner out I won't choose Gusanoz Taqueria again.

Went there yesterday (3/4) and it was not at all what I expected. I've been to the Lebanon location before and have been generally satisfied. I was glad to get a few tacos in Hanover. We ordered carne asada tacos, carnitas taco, and a fish taco. It was slow to make the food (likely because of the inefficient layout of the kitchen) and everything -- everything -- is microwaved. The carne asada was okay, but there was nothing on the taco and they never asked us if we wanted anything on top of the taco. The carnitas were okay with the basic toppings, but the microwaved part of the food really showed with the flavor severely lacking. The fish taco was the worst I've ever had. Now, I've had authentic fish tacos on the West Coast and I wasn't expecting anything close to that, but this was amazingly awful. The fish was cardboard-thin, hard as a rock and all crust with no flavor. I could barely find any meat in there. The sauce was okay, but it couldn't save the awful fish. Mrs. Paul's fish sticks would have been better. We also got a chile relleno (also microwaved) which was soggy, limp, and relatively flavorless. Definitely never going here again.

A hair in your food? One thing I can say about Gusanoz is that I've never had any issues with cleanliness there. Given that your only two posts are bashing Gusanoz' locations I am very suspicious of what you have to say.

I and a couple friends went to Gusanoz's Taqueria in Hanover around 9ish at night. One of my friends ordered the Chile Verde Burrito, I had the House Burrito, and the other friend ordered Taco's. We also had the Guacamole Appetizer. They quite a nice selection to choise from, things that are hot are label so, and I'm glad as I don't really like spicy food. The service was fast, friendly. The place was really clean. Best of all the food was excellent, everything was hot and delicious. I would go there again in heart beat. four gold stars
