As the previous reviewer said, the recent remodeling has made Windsor Harpoon a worthwhile stop for more than just a quick pint or some beer to go. Their dining room is spacious and nicely decorated, and their beergarden is outfitted with lots of picnic tables for socializing with friends old and new. They also have a large grassy area for dining/running around, which is really nice when the kids are ready to cut loose but you want to linger and enjoy.
And then of course there's the beer. I love their 100 Barrel series and Leviathan beers and am always excited to see what they've brewed lately. If you are in Windsor or Hartland for any reason, go here.

I can't believe no one has rated Harpoon yet! They recently remodeled and it has made all the difference. In summer, they have a great outdoor eating area/beergarden (an astonishing rarity for the area) and in winter, the masses can gather around a 360 fireplace. While large, the space still feels intimate and inviting. They often have some great live music.
Food is typical bar fare- burgers, wings, sandwiches- made well- ie, juicy burgers, fresh sandwiches and some excellent bratwurst and sauerkraut. Food all goes well with their crowning achievement- the beer! Staples like their IPA and hefeweizen can be found along with many of the special Leviathan and 100 Barrel Series beers, each changing seasonally. They also have their own sodas available.
Overall a great place to come with a couple of friends to see the bands and grab a beer of even for families who want a tasty, inexpensive meal, and a moment for parental relaxation while the kids oggle over the factory through the floor to ceiling glass viewing windows.
