Unfortunately, Jesse's is overpriced very mediocre food. service is by young sassy girls who are so obviously over-friendly ....during the last 5 minutes before tip time...The only good thing i like about them is the $2.00 beers in the late afternoon till 7pm....sitting outside....steaks are just overpriced and so so....

Jesse's is the only steakhouse in town which is why they remain in business. The cuts of meat are not high quality and everything is over-priced. The atmosphere is nice, and the salad bar is really good, but the entrees are very unexciting.

I've tried Jesse's a few times in the past with mediocre results at best. However, I've heard great things about the new chef and am willing to give it another shot. It sounds like they are heading in a good direction.

Great salad bar lunch deals. Despite what people say about salad bars being unclean, I like them, and Jesse's does a fantastic job with theirs. There's always something like curried chicken salad or tomato/mozz salad to augment your greens, as well as their delicious hot bread.
They also have excellent happy hour specials and a good selection of beer on tap.
As for general dinner fare, I feel it's overpriced for the region & for what you get. I also agree with other reviewers that they should really do a better job with steak, being a steakhouse and all.

I have been to Jessie's on a few occassions, and the majority of times it has been a bad experience. We've been overlooked for seating, steak overcooked, cold food, and even hair on the plate. I went for a Christmas party put on by the company I work for and it was wonderful, the whole experience was memorable. So maybe that is the way to go to Jessie's for a company party, where the company can hold them accountable, because if your a small party going in for a Friday or Saturday night dinner, they don't seem to care what you think or if you come back. This use to be the place to go, not anymore.

Interesting that four of the five most recent reviewers have only 1-2 reviews total and they are of only Blue Sky restaurants. I have lived in the UV for 25 years and have been to Jesse's on a handful of occasions during that time. Each time, I am impressed by the bountiful and fantastic spread at the salad bar. However, I always forget that I'm disappointed with my steak every time. It never comes out cooked how I order it (which is medium rare). For a steakhouse, this is just not okay. I attended a holiday party for my place of employment and, once again, other than the salad bar, the meal was disappointing. If you're in the mood for a light dinner (salad!), this is your place. But don't go if you're hoping for a great steak.

Good food, friendly & efficient staff. It used to be necessary to drive to Rutland for the best prime rib, but that place has gone to hell. Now, Jesse's offers the most succulent and flavorful prime rib within 75 miles. Fresh crispy salad bar, although the salad plates are a bit skimpy. Jesse's is always a winner. Can't lose.

This is a great restaurant on many levels - Jesse's has many of my favorite things (1)GREAT BAR-newly renovated, comfortable for a drink before dinner, or dine right there (2) SALAD BAR with an extensive variety of fresh veggies fruit, nuts and the best Sweet brown bread (3) STEAK-it was tender and tasty-cooked to perfection; the menu offers fish and vegetarian choices too.(4) DESSERTS, fabulous, loved the smaller "taste tester" size - if you cannot decide you can have two - guilt free.
The staff was polite and friendly, the atmosphere pleasant and inviting. We will be back every time we are in the Upper Valley!!

Jesse's: always timely and timeless at the same time. Whenever I come back to Hanover for Tuck/Dartmouth events, I always go to Jesse's (and Molly's and Lui Lui's, too!) because it's consistently good food, good service, charming and inventive atmosphere, new ideas and fun. When my friends and I come in, at least one of us orders the Teriyaki Steak (yummmm!), and most recently the salmon has been perfecto. And they always treat you like you're important and they listen to you. Hey, I'm no tourist--I always tell folks that if you're on Rt 120 ya gotta go to that log cabin on the hill.

My Husband and I have eaten at Jesse's many times. Just recently we enjoyed a delicious meal, great service and very welcoming atmosphere and great company. We highly recommend Jesse's to all our Long Island friends headed north to ski and they are never disappointed. Keep up the great work Marc and Jen!!!

I have been a Jesse's dining customer over many years. It's where you bring a special guest, take your mom, get together with friends; the food is good, the service too. I particularly loved the new patio. That was a terrific addition. If you have a special event Call Jen and you will be amazed how easy AND affordable it is to set up a great gathering.

You picture some kind of elegant lodge eating before going in, but it is much more like the Ponderosa steak house chain. Low quality, terrible potatoes/fries, just basic food. Overrated!

Prices are getting higher and menu has less variety. Meal portions are smaller and you pay extra for the salad bar. I agree with other reviewers, steaks are never cooked correctly, wait staff seems less attentive, salad bar was messy. Won't be going back soon.

Jesse's seems a bit overpriced for the food that's offered. We've gone a couple of times and they can never seem to cook the meal correctly. The steaks were either over-cooked or under-cooked cooked and the lobsters were forgettable. The service was good but other than that...

Great ambiance, adirondack style architecture lends itself to a warm cozy feeling in the restaurant. Consistantly good food and a great (and well maintained) salad bar. The only gripe I have had on several occasions is how the steaks are cooked... it doesn't seem to matter how you ask to have them cooked, they always seem to come out wrong, but don't let that deter you from going!
