Best place in Hanover for Indian cuisine!

The only place around serving Indian food, and it's darned good. As a vegetarian, I can always get lots of options in Indian restaurants. Prices are fair, as well. Don't care for the house red wine, though. As for the person who thought the Bradford Motel had better Indian food, I ask Why would you think that? I thought it was awful--every dish had the same spice it, in the same quantity, making every dish taste the same. Went once when she first opened and never went back.

I had never had Indian food before Jewel of India...so i don't have much compare to...the staff was not super friendly, but the food was good.

Jewel provides your pretty standard Good Indian Food. You probably won't be blown away, but I've never left disappointed. The service isn't great, I tend to feel like I am inconveniencing the staff whenever I walk into the place.

Good food, though inconsistant in its prparation. It's the best take-out around!

Their Sunday Buffet was quite delicious, although it offered a small selection. I wish they'd do a better job of explaining what's in each dish. I never know what to do with those tasty exotic condiments. And why are those red chicken pieces always dry and overcooked? Yes, the staff seem rather haughty or cold, but I'm really there for the food. I'd go back, but will just avoid the chicken.

The best indian food in the UV outside of perhaps the Bradford Motel's homemade style indian buffet. The food is always spiced well and full of flavor and aroma. I personally really enjoy their paneer masala and the mali kofta. Vastly superior to the other indian option in Hanover, India Queen. Lots of vegetarian options as one would expect from an Indian restaurant and also excellent Naan options.

Jewel of India is the better of the two Indian restaurants in Hanover. The service is slow and unfriendly but the food is decent for the Upper Valley. We have only eaten lunch there where there hasn't been an issue getting a table. I don't know what the wait is like at dinner.
