Thai food in downtown Hanover... Mai Thai offers the standard selection of Thai curries and noodle dishes along with cocktails and drinks from their bar. They also have a lunch buffet that runs from 11:30AM to 3PM from Monday to Saturday.

Based on the food alone I could see this being a 4 star review but you defnitely need to remove one because of the long waits. Do not go to Mai Thai if you need to be someplace afterward. Sometimes service can be slow. Keep that in mind and you will be pleased. But the food is always pretty solid. Their Pad Thai and Curries are solid. For a vegetarian they offer fried tofu as a meat subsitute on pretty much any dish. More faux meats would be nice. Try the spicy fried rice, it is very good. Prices are low, food is consistant, and the bottom line is there isn't another Thai place around unless you go to Concord/Manchester.

How this bland restaurant has managed to survive so many years in this expensive location on Main Street in Hanover is a mystery to me. Maybe someone from the 1980s, back when "Hey let's go get some Thai food" seemed like a hip and fresh thing to say, is still waiting for their order to arrive and the place is legally obligated to remain open until it does.

I went here once sophomore year and almost missed graduation as a result.

The Thai food here is decent but nothing worth writing home about. I'm Thai so they tend to fix dishes a bit more authentic for my husband and I but it's still not to par with what I fix at home. The staff is nice and attentive.
