I went to Mickey's Roadside Cafe for the first time on Saturday, 12-17-11, nice quiet Cafe. I was with 2 other dinner guest. We were seated promptly and told the waitress that we were waiting for a fourth. she took our drink order and left us to look over the extensive menu and specials. So much to pick from. Our fouth showed up and we placed our order for our first course. I and one other companion had the "famous" seafood chowder, on of my other dining guest had the corn chowder. I don't know how it could be called chowder, as it was just hot milk with lots of seafood in it. The corn chowder lived up to the name chowder, thick and rich in a nice crock. For my main course I ordered on of the specials, Roast Turkey with all the fixings. One of my dining companions order the same, one of them ordered the clam basket, and the last ordered the Fishermen's platter, which i might add was huge.
My meal tasty as it was ok at best. The dressing under the very small amount of turkey was okay, the butternut squash with brown sugar and topping was excellent. I am almost positive the potatoes was instant mixed with real (maybe). The low part was when I bite into a rivet that was in the dressing. I give the Cafe credit, they gave me a card to return for a free meal. That is if I go back. Usually when I have a bad experience it is a while before I return. bronze star

This is a good destination (ice cream!) when biking on the rail trail with kids.

I enjoy going to Mickeys. We always see someone we know there. Mickey is a hard worker, he is there all of the time working along with the help! The menu selection is very good and I've had excellent food and service most every time I've eaten there. This cafe has improved so much since it was operated under the name "Janet's Roadside Cafe." Much better food and service. It has become one of my favorites.

Mickey's is a good local diner. Their scallops are really good, hardly any breading which is a nice change from the usual thick batter. Pass on the country fries which are quite greasy and get the sweet potato fries instead.

why do I bother going to this place. Sometimes I think it will change but mostly I find that both the food and the service stink. And if you get something take out be prepared to get home without what you ordered.

Mickey's is convenient, but the food is too frequently mediocre compared to the prices. Service is getting better, but be careful when getting takeout -- check to make sure all the food (and the right food) is there!!
