Description
The 2008 blueberry season has ended. Noda's Farm will be open again during the holiday season for Christmas trees.
Noda Farm offers blueberries in the summer and Christmas trees in the winter.
The farm is unique in two ways:
it runs on the honor system - pick your berries, weigh them and leave the appropriate amount of money in the till
the farmer is Lafayette Noda, in his 90s, still out working every day
The blueberries are usually plump and sweet, and are generally available through the month of August - sometimes after Labor Day if the crop permits. Call to check on availability.
Christmas trees work similarly; choose your own tree, cut it down and leave payment in the box in the garage.

Sun Jun 15, 2008 by qBazTwice yearly, the Noda Farm features the results of Lafayette Noda's long experience as a farmer: during the summer, honor-system blueberries, and in the winter, honor-system Christmas trees. Both clearly show his expertise and care, and both were essential landmarks to our calendar year when we were living in the Upper Valley. |
