Typical pub food - definitely has the bar atmosphere upstairs. Fries and appetizers

Four of us went to Salt Hill in Newport. We are not strangers to this place as we have been here on serveral occasions, we have had some very bad experiences at this location before. We started our meal off with the mix of onion rings and pepper rings, deep fried. I perfer onion rings and wanted to try the pepper rings, this will be the first and last time. From now on it will be just onion rings. My brother and I both had the Jake burger, My brothers' financee had the Firehouse Burger with the horseradish on the side. My wife had the PO Boy. All the burgers had great flavor, but all three of us agree they were over cooked. If your going to ask how I want it cook, make sure you cook it that way. Home made french fries, excellent. The Po Boy that my wife had, was good, in fact bigger than what she could eat. Our waitress was outstanding, perky, and very attentative.
