We love Salt Hill-- great (yes, greasy) pub fare, but also some tasty lighter options-- the salad with salmon and gorgonzola is one of my favorite things to order, and the veggie wrap is good too. Nice selection of beer-- there's always something on tap that appeals to me. I've never had terrible service or been ignored, as others have noted. In fact, one of the things I really like is a sense of community when you walk in. The Lebanon Salt Hill hosts and supports a lot of community-oriented events. All in all, I hope they're here to stay.

Great place to have a pint and listen to music. I've only had a few food items there and they were fine. I've never been to the Newport location but the Lebanon one is far better than Hanover. I hope the Hanover location doesn't bring this one down.

salt hill is fantastic. the food is always great and the cooks' daily specials are always tasty and not something you can get at any other place in the UV. Service is friendly, curtious, and respectful. There is not a full bar...but seriously people is it even necessary? Great beer and whiskey is all you need. The bartender has always made my experience in the pub over the top...part of the reason i keep going back. the owner definitely knew what he was doing when he hired her...and definitely knows how to successfully run an outstanding pub.

I absolutely cannot stand this place. The lighting is horrible, the crowd is boring, the food sucks, and the service is awful. I forgot my ID and offered to go get it from my car. The owner told me, "No, we'll serve. But DON'T let it happen again!" Had I not offered to go get my license, I could have understood (though still not respected) the admonishment, but seeing as how I offered to produce it for him, I thought it was quite rude, as well as very unwelcoming, for him to chastise me like that. What won't happen again is me spending money there.

Salt Hill I miss you! Having moved away from the Upper Valley (to Florida) I can say I am sad to not have Salt Hill within walking distance from home. I miss the local brews they served like Switchback, Longtrail, Magic Hat, and Harpoon, as well as the comfort pub grub which always seemed to hit the spot. This is definitely a beer centric place, and it took a while before they served any liquor at all, and that is still limited to selections of Irish single malt whiskeys. Don't expect to find fruity mixed drinks here, the atmosphere is much more rustic and goes best with beer and a ploughman's platter. I was a big fan of their tuna fish salad sandwich on rye or the tuna steak (over an inch thick yellow fin fillet). The tuna salad always had the perfect touch of mayo and came loaded up with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and a hint of pub sauce. Pub sauce is an addictive condiment at Salt Hill and it consists of a combination of mayonnaise, mustard, and horseradish. It is great on their sandwiches or veggie burgers plus the fries. Their sandwiches come with homemade crisp potato chips, but I'd often get a side of fries for a small up charge. The fries were always generally good, but sometimes the fry cook would be lazy and they would be undercooked resulting in sad limpy greasiness. Their menu definitely works well for vegetarians as they have several selections including: a veggie burger which is quite good, a meatless (think black beans, salsa, and sour cream) taco salad which comes in a wonderful fried tortilla shell, veggie mac and cheese, and a vegetarian shepards pie. They have even had the occasional vegetarian special where they do things like a faux meat philly cheese steak which have proven to be delicious. The location is great right and easy to get to in downtown Lebanon right by the town center green and Colburn Park. Of course if there is something going down at the opera house be prepared to go around in circles looking for a parking spot! They have a rather extensive live music music schedule so on some nights the front of house can turn into part stage, part dance floor and it can be busy and loud. I much prefer the low key nights when some traditional Irish folk musicians setup shop in the middle tables and you can hear yourself think and eat. They were always willing to do takeout and the turn around time and order accuracy was always spot on. It is definitely one of my favorite places for good food and times in Lebanon and the Upper Valley in general.

Had dinner @ Salt Hill Pub last Friday. It was busy and noisy which is what I was looking for that night. As soon as the LOH was to begin their concedrt it emptied out and quited down. As an app I selected the battered rings which were both onion and green pepper. Very tasty! Entree' was fish and chips. Big hunk of white fish which was very filling as well as an ample supply of fries. Washed the beforementioned down with a couple of Guiness to compliment the evening. Can't wait until they open in Hanover!

Everything is pretty average except the service. Josh really looks after the patrons. He is always interacting with guests and you can just tell that he values your patronage. Keep up the great work. My first choice for a pint!!!

The food here is usually overcooked and very greasy. The service is touch and go depending on who you get. The Newport location has much better food and a better atmosphere if you sit upstairs in the bar area. They have dining tables up there.

I like this place. The menu is kind of an odd mix of stuff and the atmosphere isn't much (a bar), but the food was good and you can get a good beer with it. They have a hummus plate that's pretty good. The stew is good too.

Decent pub food... things tend to be very heavy and fatty though.
