The first time I went to Stella's, I too would have given it four or five stars, but it's gone downhill the last three times, so we're not going back. Stay away from the eggplant parmesan, which was oversalted, had horrible sauce, and just was awful! Owner didn't seem concerned when I spoke with him--he said his restaurant has been favorably reviewed, implying that my comments weren't important to him.

Great place. The food was terrific, the atmosphere is great and the staff is friendly. The only thing I can say is that I wish they were a bit closer to Hanover. Good job!!

I love this place. It has a great atmosphere, comfy armchairs, good specialty foods to buy, and a restaurant with tables nicely separated. The food is fairly priced, the service friendly. It feels a lot like being in Northern Italy. The only item I can't say I enjoyed is the tuna salad -- too many capers.

We have gone there for dinner or take-out about a dozen times. The staff have been very friendly and helpful. The food has been the very best. We love the pizza! One of our family members uses a walker and there has never been a problem in setting us. The salads are second to none and the entrees are well prepared and presented. Thanks Bob and Denby for bringing a much needed fine dining experience to Lyme.

First time for dinner on October 1st. The venue was eclectic, earthy toned painted walls with great decor. Music was on but could not hear it at all. Turn it up! Had a glass of vino at the bar while waiting for our table. Dinner was excellent as was the service. Salads were very good with crisp croutons and anchovies on my caesar. I had the eggplant parm which came with a side of spaghetti.
I understand it can get quite busy but we were there on a Tuesday night and it was moderately busy. It's about time we got another good restaurtant in the area. There are so many below average ones. Finally someone did it right.

I've been here four times already. They have a few kinks to work out, but your patience will pay off. Sandwiches are top notch. The pasta dishes we have tried were excellent - the chicken carbonara is fantastic. Got pizza for take out 6/7 and that took over an hour - but when we did get it, it was hot and delicious. The market is a gem! If you don't get there early, you may have to wait - but again - it is worth it.

9/2008 UPDATE: We've been back many times. They have worked out the inital kinks and easily have the best food in the Upper Valley.

Lyme folks are so pleased to have a local restaurant once again. Stella's fits the bill. It is reasonably priced, the food is good, and the Italian grocery is convenient and good quality. Easiest time to get a table? Lunch! The dinner hours are always very busy, and most times, we have to wait.
