There is a reason no one has had anything positive to say about this place in months!! I am not sure when the new owners took over but this is not the same restaurant that me and my family used to enjoy. The service used to be top notch, but no longer. The blast of cigarette smoke from the hostess along with the two waitresses "hanging-out" with her upon our arrival was enough to almost make me lose my appetite. One of the butt smokers was our waiter and I think she smoke at least two more while we were dining. Someone should make them aware how offensive the smell of an ashtray is to a nonsmoker because they are clearly oblivious to this!!! Needless to say, the food was just okay and service was terrible. Certainly not what I would expect from a dining experience that came with a $130 dollar tab....will not go back

Liked the food and the atmosphere--one feels as if one is in a Manhattan restaurant. It's more fun eating at the bar than in the crowded dining room.

Two months ago, we had fish soup that was the best in the area. The salads are great we love to eat at the bar and converse with neighbors.

Consistantly good food at reasonable prices. Try the "Dinner for two" which I believe is Monday thru Thursday. $35 for 2 salads, carafe of vino, choice of any wood fired pizza OR a select menu of pasta dishes as well as a dessert to share. Great before a show at Lebanon Opera House.

From the moment you walk in the door and suck in those wonderful aromas of Italian cheeses and sauces, the wood-fired ovens, and of course lots of garlic, the dining experience just gets better and better. A terrific wine selection, the fresh baguettes dipped in garlic & olive oil, fresh salads, interesting appetizers, versatile menu. Yes, sometimes the service is slower than we'd like, but that seems to happen only on nights when the Lebanon Opera House has something exciting going on and the entire Upper Valley shows up. Otherwise, the service is adequate and friendly (many of the servers have worked there neary since the beginning). Don't let one or two less-than-perfect experiences dissuade you from trying again. They really are one of the best Italian restaurants in the UV.

LOVE Three Tomatoes! The food is amazing, and as a vegetarian, it's awesome that they always have a vegetarian pasta option, as well as an excellent array of salads. I am addicted to the bread and the oil, which they saturate with minced garlic (awesome!). I'll admit, the service at the lunch hour is nothing to write home about sometimes, but at night, when the women that have been serving and hosting there for over a decade are working, it's a beautiful display of fast, friendly service, and extra touches. I had one bad meal there ever with a new waitress and it was dealt with promptly, professionally, and kindly... Also, I've never seen that waitress again, so that tells you how seriously they take service issues. The setting is beautiful, I love the patio, and I have tried so many new things there, simply because I trust in the quality of their food. The "chickens" of wine are great, the decor and menu original... This is the UV's best Italian.

During our visit, the food was on the salty side and one dish had an odd combination of tomato sauce, shrimp and kalamata olives. They went a bit over board on the olives so the dish had a predominately salty flavor which overpowered the shrimp and tomato sauce. The pasta is overcooked and salty. The service was awful with our server apologizing everytime she came to our table. They have a decent wine list but that doesn't excuse the poor quality of food. More than likely, we won't be patrons of Three Tomatoes unless it's a unanimous vote by friends to go.

I really enjoyed my experience at 3 tomatoes. The mussels were excellent, great warm bread, good menu selection. We had great service. It was top notch Italian food.

Poor customer service and mediocre food marks this place off my list. I am not used to a waitress taking my money without saying, "I will be back with your change?" Instead, our surly server (who seemed annoyed once we ordered a very small lunch) said, "Do you want change?" No, I will not tip someone over $6 for doing 'nothing.'
I really have no idea why this place is 'supposed to be' so fantastic. I guess it's the lack of competition.

I had the poorest service here out of any restaurant I've been to in the Upper Valley. The hostess genuinely didn't care about us and treated us like dirt. I'm never going back.

Very good Italian food... the lunches are particularly good. My main qualm with Three Tomatoes is that their service is often dramatically slow. Be careful about going there on a night when there's a show at the Lebanon Opera House.
