The food here is really good. Even if you're not into true asian cuisine you can find something on the menu you'll enjoy. The service is fast and efficient. The prices are reasonable.

While the service is not quite on par with their original W. Leb location, the food is just as delicious. A few times I've gone with a large group of 4 little kids and 4-5 adults, and they've always been very accommodating, if not quite as over-the-top kid-friendly as the other site. We are so grateful that they opened this location. We'd do more business lunches/dinners here if they took reservations.

Some of the best sushi I've had, However I have had a mixed experience with the waitstaff. Most often they are very attentive, but I once waited had to go find the waiter for water and to order an extra sushi roll.

The food is good, and the service is even better. I still like the food at the original location in West Leb better, but the atmosphere in Hanover makes it worth it.

Although nothing at yama can be considered "perfect" when compared to authentic Korean cuisine, it is not the worst restaurant I have been to around here. I have tried the sushi, sashimi, bulgogi, etc. My advice is to stick with the bibimbap, and enjoy. Do not get sushi or sashimi and expect fresh fish, expect lots of sauce.

A group of four friends and I went to Yama on 2.6.09. No reservations accepted (typical for Hanover it seems), but the 15 minute wait really wasn't that bad for peak hours on a Friday evening. They are certainly busy. Given the crowds, we were seated and tended to relatively quickly. Overall, service was good, though there was a period of more than 5 minutes between the delivery of two different entrees.

Most importantly--with regard for the food--I found the restaurant to be very good for a UV japanese/korean place. I'm from the shadow of New York City so there are many more of these restaurants in my home area. None the less, the food overall was pretty good. I ordered a california roll to test their basic sushi skills/standards before delving deep into more complicated rolls. While tasty, the rice on the outside was not all that well seasoned, and it was also seemingly medium grain rice (the best and most expensive sushi rice (most expensive being $10-15 per 10 lb bag is short grain). Also, the nori was somewhat tough and still very present in the roll (generally nori disappears in taste, so to speak). Their take on japanese ginger salad dressing was a little different from what I am used to, but very, very tasty. The large chunks of carrot and lack of excess sugar was a pleasant surprise.

My entree, beef bulgogi, was perfect. The sauce was mild and crisp. The steak was perfectly cooked, and also sliced with great care. The portion was also agreable; it was neither too large or too small.

There were a few things missing--green tea should maybe be offered right off the bat, especially on a cold winter day. The inside of the restaurant is also lacking a bit of character, though that's not really anything to complain about.

Prices were also reasonable. Overall, a very good UV dining experience.

Finally got in for lunch on Friday 1/9/2009. My husband got there at 11:30 and already six other tables were full. Every table and booth was full by noon and there was a line of people waiting. The menu is a little different from the West Lebanon store - for instance, Crunch Munch is not on the menu in Hanover. The staff was very friendly and efficient and the food was wonderful. The only drawback is the parking. That is more a town of Hanover issue than Yama's. I had to go to CVS twice last week and could not find parking. Be advised that CVS, in the past, has been known to boot vehicles of people that park in their lot and go someplace else. So - you want to get to Yama II early, and park in the parking garage.
