Entering your email address this second time helps avoid problems where someone may guess the special link. The special link is good for two days after which it expires and you will need to request a new one.

Why don't we just email your password to you? Two reasons. First, emailing a password is very insecure. Anyone can read the password and get access to your account. Second, in order to protect you, we store your password in an encoded form. Because of this, we don't even know what your password is! This protects you even in the event that a cracker breaks into our database.
